How we verify

How we verify

Nothing appears on Pokechrono without passing through an expert's hands. Here is what we look at, in what order, and what you receive at the end.

  1. 1

    Receipt

The card arrives at our lab under a tracked label. It is photographed the moment the envelope is opened: condition on arrival, documented.

  2. 2

    Authenticity

Print, cut, back, holo texture, weight and thickness, compared against reference copies. Modern counterfeits are caught here.

  3. 3

    Condition

Centring, edges, corners, surface, under raking light and magnification. The condition declared by the seller is confirmed or corrected.

  4. 4

    Existing slab

If the card is already graded, we check the certificate number against the grader's register and the integrity of the case.

  5. 5

    Studio photos

Front, back, corners, slab. These are the photos on the auction page: ours, not the seller's.

  6. 6

    Signed report

Outcome, condition, notes, the expert's name. Attached to the page, delivered with the card.

Verified by Pokechrono

It is our assessment, issued by our expert under our name. It is not a PSA, BGS or CGC grade: those are registered trademarks, and we show them only when issued by them, with the certificate number.

Double verification

For the cards that matter, the buyer can request a second, independent check — another expert, or submission to a partner grader — before shipping. Fixed price per card, chosen at payment.

€29 per card

Guarantee of authenticity

If a card sold on Pokechrono turns out not to be authentic, we refund the buyer. The guarantee binds the platform, not the seller.

Who verifies

Every card that reaches Pokechrono passes through their hands: authenticity, condition, conformity of the declared grade. Nothing goes online without their signed report.

Our expert's name will be published when the first auctions open.
