The most searched Pokémon cards in Italy: Charizard, Pikachu, Umbreon
The ten most searched Pokémon on eBay.it, from Charizard to Gyarados, and for each one the catalogue's reference card with its value in October 2026.
The Pokechrono editorial teamPublished 11 October 2026

In Italy the most searched Pokémon card is, by a wide margin, Charizard: 223,634 searches on eBay.it in 2023, almost half of all those for the top ten Pokémon, according to the press release issued by eBay on 27 February 2024. Then come Pikachu, Rayquaza, Mewtwo, Lugia, Mew, Umbreon, Blastoise, Gengar and Gyarados. For each one we give here the reference card in the Pokechrono catalogue and its value in October 2026.
The eBay.it ranking
The figures from the press release, covering 2023 searches on eBay.it:
- Charizard, 223,634 searches, 47% of the top 10.
- Pikachu, 78,097.
- Rayquaza, 30,263.
- Mewtwo, 30,131.
- Lugia, 25,983.
- Mew, 22,525.
- Umbreon, 21,890.
- Blastoise, 14,962.
- Gengar, 14,616.
- Gyarados, 13,827.
The data is now three years old, but it is the only public measure of Italian demand, and what we see in our catalogue searches in 2026 does not contradict it: the middle positions change, the names do not.
Charizard: half of everything
Charizard on its own is worth almost as much as the other nine put together. The reference card is the Base Set Charizard 4/102: ungraded between €200 and €1,500, in PSA 10 around €11,000 over the last month according to PriceCharting, October 2026, down 11% over twelve months. It is the card we are asked about most often and the one on which we see the most fakes.
Pikachu: two cards, two worlds
For Pikachu the catalogue has two references. The Base Set Pikachu 58/102, a common card worth between €25 and €80 ungraded but reaching around €480 in PSA 10. And the Pikachu ex 238/191 Special Illustration Rare from Surging Sparks (Scintille Folgoranti): between €260 and €330 ungraded, around €690 in PSA 10, down 36% over twelve months. The modern Pikachu has cooled; the 1999 one has not.
Rayquaza, Lugia, Umbreon: modern vintage
Three names in the ranking have their reference card among the alternate arts of 2021 and 2022. The Rayquaza VMAX Alternate Art 218/203 from Evolving Skies (Evoluzioni Eteree) sits between €950 and €1,300 ungraded and at around €1,900 in PSA 10, up 15%.
The Lugia V Alternate Art 186/195 from Silver Tempest (Tempesta Argentata) trades between €400 and €550 ungraded and at around €1,100 in PSA 10, up 19%.
The Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art 215/203, the Moonbreon, is the most interesting case: seventh Pokémon by searches, but the most expensive modern card in the catalogue, between €1,500 and €2,100 ungraded and around €3,400 in PSA 10, up 4%. Searches measure the breadth of the audience; price measures how much that audience is willing to pay.
Mewtwo, Blastoise, Gyarados: the Base Set
For three Pokémon on the list the reference is still 1999. The Mewtwo 10/102 is worth between €25 and €80 ungraded and around €4,200 in PSA 10, the highest 10 premium in the catalogue. The Blastoise 2/102 sits between €150 and €800 raw and at around €7,700 in PSA 10, up 200% on the year. The Gyarados 6/102, a card worth €15 to €40 ungraded, is worth around €2,600 in PSA 10.
These are the numbers that best describe the 2026 market: first-generation Pokémon in perfect grade have risen more than any modern card, according to PriceCharting, October 2026.
Mew and Gengar
For Mew the most accessible reference is the Mew ex 205/165 Special Illustration Rare from Pokémon 151: between €15 and €25 ungraded, around €220 in PSA 10. For Gengar, the Gengar VMAX Alternate Art 271/264 from Fusion Strike (Colpo Fusione): between €900 and €1,150 ungraded, around €2,100 in PSA 10, up 10%. Gengar is ninth by searches, but its alternate art is among the five most expensive modern cards in the catalogue.
What this ranking tells buyers
Three things. First: demand concentrates on a few names, and those names have been the same for years; a Charizard, Pikachu or Umbreon card in PSA 10 is the easiest to resell, because there is always someone looking for it. Second: for that very reason they are the cards with the most fakes and the most tampered slabs in circulation, and the certificate must be checked every time on the grading body's website. Third: searches do not make the price; the print, the grade and the rarity of the 10 do.
Every card in the catalogue comes to auction with the certificate number shown in full and our expert's verification. How the sealed-bid auction works, and how to decide how much to offer, is explained on the how it works page.

Frequently asked questions
Which is the most searched Pokémon in Italy?
Charizard, with 223,634 searches on eBay.it in 2023, 47% of the total for the top ten, according to eBay's press release of 27 February 2024. Pikachu follows with 78,097.
Is the most searched card also the most expensive?
Not always. Charizard 4/102 is the most expensive in the group in PSA 10, but Umbreon, seventh by searches, has the most expensive modern card. Price depends on the rarity of the grade, not on the number of searches.
What does the ranking tell buyers?
That demand concentrates on a few names: Charizard, Pikachu, the Eeveelutions and the Base Set Pokémon. They are the easiest cards to resell and also the ones with the most fakes in circulation.
