Delta Reign: what to expect from the new Mega Evolution expansion
Delta Reign is released on 6 November 2026, the sixth Mega Evolution expansion: the Mega ex rarities, what to look for in a new set and how prices move.
The Pokechrono editorial teamPublished 19 October 2026

Delta Reign (Dominio Delta) is released in Italy on 6 November 2026 and is the new expansion in the Mega Evolution series, the sixth in little more than a year. The Elite Trainer Box is already available to pre-order on Pokechrono at €93.90. In this article we recount what the series has built so far, which rarities to look for in a new set and how prices move in the first weeks, without inventing the list of cards we do not yet know.
The Mega Evolution series in a year
The series opened in October 2025 with Mega Evolution (Megaevoluzione), the Mega Lucario-ex set. It was followed by Phantasmal Flames (Fiamme Spettrali) in November 2025, Ascended Heroes (Ascesa Eroica) in February 2026, Perfect Balance in March 2026 and Chaos Rising in May 2026. Delta Reign is the sixth chapter.
The pace is high, almost a set every two months. For collectors that means two things: a set's sealed products leave the shelves quickly, replaced by the next one, and single cards get a few weeks of full attention before interest moves on.
The rarities to know: Mega ex, SIR, Mega Hyper
The heart of the series are the Mega ex Pokémon, back after the XY era with a dedicated rarity tier. In every set the most sought-after cards sit in the secret numbering, beyond the total printed on the card, and fall into two families: the Special Illustration Rares (SIR), with full-card artwork, and the Mega Hyper Rares, with a gold finish.
An example from the catalogue makes the scale of values clear: the Mega Charizard X ex 130/094 Mega Hyper Rare from Phantasmal Flames trades ungraded between €240 and €300, while its PSA 10 value over the last month is around €1,900, according to PriceCharting, October 2026. In the same set, the SIR version of Mega Charizard X ex remains the most talked-about cover card of the year.
What to look for in a new set
When a set comes out, our checklist is always the same, and it applies to Delta Reign too:
- Which Mega ex have a SIR and a Mega Hyper Rare: these are the cards that hold the set's value over time.
- How many Pokémon loved by the Italian public there are, beyond those on the cover: Eevee and its evolutions, Charizard, Gengar and Pikachu move demand more than new Pokémon do.
- The ratio of secret cards to booster packs: the longer the secret numbering, the harder each single card is to find.
- The print quality of the first runs, because a SIR with print lines on the holofoil does not reach a 10.
The official Delta Reign list will only be complete close to release. We prefer to update the catalogue pages at that point rather than publish today names that might not be there.
How prices move in the first weeks
The first days after release are those with the scarcest supply and the highest prices. Then packs are opened, cards reach the market and prices settle, in many cases much lower.
The clearest case in the series is the Mega Gardevoir ex 187/132 Mega Hyper Rare from Mega Evolution: today the ungraded range is €160 to €200 and the PSA 10 value over the last month is around €500, down 74% over twelve months according to PriceCharting, October 2026. Anyone who bought it in release week paid the price of initial scarcity. It is not a rule that holds for every card, but it is a pattern we have seen repeat on almost every set of 2025 and 2026.
The Delta Reign ETB and its siblings
The Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box is available to pre-order at €93.90 and ships on 6 November, seal checked and shipping insured. For anyone who wants the full picture of the series, the shop still has the Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Box with Mega Lucario-ex, at €93.90, and the Phantasmal Flames Elite Trainer Box, at €102.90: the first is the series' debut set, the second the one with the two Mega Charizard.
What we do not yet know
We do not know how many SIRs Delta Reign will have, nor which Pokémon will carry the Mega Hyper Rare. We do not know how long shop stock will last, although the last three sets suggest a few weeks. We know the date, the ETB price and the way we work: every card that enters the catalogue will pass through our expert before going to auction. Anyone who wants to understand a card's journey, from verification to delivery, will find it all on the how it works page.
