Why it's among the most searched-for

The black Charizard of Champion's Path: one PSA 10 sale a day between €317 and €424, and on Allegro a listing at 1,790 zł (around €410) consistent with PriceCharting; it is the €300–450 band that the Netherlands and Poland buy in English.

What to know

Charizard V full art, black like its shiny form, illustrated by 5ban Graphics: Secret Rare 079/073 from Champion's Path, the special set of 25 September 2020 sold only in collections, Pin Collections and Elite Trainer Boxes, never in booster boxes. Together with the VMAX 074 it is the card that sold the set out at the height of the 2020 boom. Also printed in Italian with the same artwork; here the English printing, the one with a PriceCharting record and the one the European market looks for. With almost 20,000 copies in grade 10 supply is wide and the price is driven by demand for Charizard, not by rarity. The black background shows every scratch and Champion's Path cards often come off-centre: check before grading.
